A constellation of 25 nanosatellites

Since summer 2024, Kinéis has been deploying a constellation of 25 nanosatellites, divided into 5 launches of 5 satellites each. These new-generation satellites are equipped with payloads dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT) and the AIS mission.

Thanks to their low-earth orbit at 650 km altitude, these satellites ensure regular passes over all areas of the globe, guaranteeing total coverage, even in the most isolated regions with no terrestrial coverage.

For total detection

This constellation covers all oceans, maximizing the detection of ships equipped with AIS transmitters. This is a major technological advance in Europe, where Kinéis has surrounded itself with the best French partners to meet the challenge of miniaturizing satellite technologies.

2 of the 5 planned launches have already been successfully completed, and the final 3 will take place by early 2025. Each step brings Kinéis closer to its goal of offering unprecedented AIS coverage, for global maritime tracking and connectivity, anywhere in the world.

Barely 2 months after the success of its second launch, Kinéis is accelerating the deployment of the first European constellation dedicated to AIS and IoT. With 5 new satellites in orbit in november 2025, including the 3rd mission named “Ice AIS Baby” in homage to the AIS mission, Kinéis is one step closer to its ambition: to connect what matters to us, everywhere, every time.
